What project we have for you

Our client, a leading software and services provider for communications and media companies, is establishing the Support and Maintenance team for newly launched project in Ukraine, so looking for strong and motivated support personnel with experience in operating high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications and frameworks (On-prem OpenShift, Kubernetes, HBase, Kafka). You will be part of a talented software engineering team that is servicing the next generation of our product using micro services technology stack.

Take responsibility on operations and support of Production BSS (Telecom Billing, rating, ordering, PCRF, network provisioning, IVR, Product catalog and API) IT project in ensuring the Maintenance and services operations SLA. Ensure solution meets customer business and technical needs by leveraging out clients IT assets and best practices while considering IT strategic goals.

What you will do

In one sentence:

The SW test engineer focuses mainly on planning test executions, preparing test cases and conducting hands on validation and certification of the production defect fixes, work arounds and performing production sanity.

Responsibilities:

Executes functional test procedures and/ or scripts either manually or by automated tools. Tracks and reports on the test execution in a timely manner with attention give to achieving a high level of quality.
Gathers and documents the outcome of test executions and all information needed to support on going measurements and reporting on risks, defects, tests, and coverage.
Reports discrepancies and analyzes them to determine the root causes. Evaluates script failures at a high level.
Coordinates with Development and Infra teams/peers on the resolution of issues, overseeing the testing progress and ensuring that high standards of quality are being met.
Compares and analyzes system behavior vs. expected results/KPIs based on business and technical requirements. Identifies issues, proposes system improvements and performs repetitive test execution to resolve identified issues.
Contributes to the design of test scenarios and performs peer reviews of test cases.
Evaluates test exit criteria to assess if additional tests are required or if test scenarios need to be adjusted.

What you need for this

Requirements:

5+ years of experience
3+ years of experience in the Telecom domain
Familiarity with Business Support System (BSS).
Hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL
Experience in functional test procedures and/ or scripts either manually or by automated tools. Tracks and reports on the test execution in a timely manner with attention give to achieving a high level of quality.
Experience in gathering and documenting the outcome of test executions and all information needed to support on going measurements and reporting on risks, defects, tests, and coverage.
Experience in finding Reports discrepancies and analyzes them to determine the root causes. Evaluates script failures at a high level.
Experience in comparing and analyzing system behavior vs. expected results/KPIs based on business and technical requirements.
Experience in designing of test scenarios and performing peer reviews of test cases.
Hands on experience with production monitoring tools like Grafana.
Good understanding of production processes and defect life cycle.
Must have experience of working with microservices.
Practical experience with NoSQL databases, such as Couchbase and HBase.
Hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL
Practical experience with Unix / Linux Scripting
Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.

Will be a plus:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Familiarity with Fuse, Camel, and Spring Boot is a plus.
Knowledge of REACT and Redux is considered an added advantage.
Knowledge of API Man.
Knowledge of Diameter Protocol is a plus.
