Intellias is a global product engineering and services company, and we’re growing our presence in Japan through our Mobility segment.

What project we have for you

We’re looking for Solutions Engineer who can lead technical conversations with Japanese clients, help turn opportunities into signed deals, and then help the team to  ensure those deals delivered — acting as the bridge between our engineering team and the client side in Japan. 

What you will do

  • Get involved early in the sales process — join client meetings, understand what the OEM or Tier 1 is trying to solve, and help shape a proposal that holds up technically 
  • Run demos, be a part of team that responds to RFPs, and build credibility with engineering and technical procurement stakeholders at Japanese automotive companies 
  • Once a deal is signed, own the technical relationship on the Japan side — make sure requirements are understood, expectations are set correctly, and nothing important gets lost between Japan and global engineering team 
  • Translate not just language but context — Japanese automotive clients have specific ways of working, and our team needs someone who can bridge that gap in both directions 
  • Occasionally travel to client sites for kick-offs, technical workshops, or review meetings 

What you need for this

  • Hands-on engineering background — you should be able to have a real technical conversation without needing someone to script it for you. It should not be deep, but wide enough to cover typical OEM topics 
  • Native or near-native Japanese, with solid professional English (our internal team operates in English) 
  • Direct experience working with Japanese automotive OEMs or Tier 1. You know how these organizations work from the inside 
  • Comfortable being the only technical person in the room on the Japan side and making that work 
  • Patient, structured communicator — you can take a complex engineering output and present it in a way that makes sense to a Japanese client audience, and vice versa 

 

Nice to have 

  • Familiarity with automotive standards or frameworks – you don’t need to be a certified expert, but knowing the vocabulary matters in these conversations 
  • Prior pre-sales, solutions consulting, or technical account management experience 
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams
