Our approach integrates AI-driven engineering, automation, and industry-standard frameworks such as AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, and SDV architectures, helping clients bring complex mobility products to market more efficiently and at scale.
In April 2026 Intellias has opened its office in Tokyo to work directly alongside Japanese automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers on the transition toward software-defined vehicle (SDV). The office houses IntelliKit – an Automotive Technology Platform for OEMs developing next-generation cockpit systems.
What you will do
- Join client meetings early in the sales process – understand what the OEM or Tier 1 is trying to solve and help shape a technically credible proposal
- Run demos, contribute to RFP responses, and build working relationships with engineering and technical procurement stakeholders at Japanese automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
- Once a deal is signed, own the technical relationship on the Japan side — ensure requirements are understood, expectations are aligned, and nothing important is lost in translation between the client and our global engineering teams
- Serve as the connective tissue between the Japan client side and our global engineering team – ensuring context, not just content, travels in both directions
- Travel to client sites for kick-offs, technical workshops, and review meetings as needed
What you need for this
- 7+ years in software engineering and 7+ years in leadership/management roles
- Proven experience in the automotive domain (OEM, Tier-1, or supplier environment)
- Direct experience working with Japanese OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers, with a clear understanding of their decision-making processes and business culture
- Solid engineering background with the ability to lead in-depth technical discussions across key automotive domains: SDV architecture, AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive), digital cockpit, AD/ADAS, embedded systems, middleware, and V2X connectivity
- Strong expertise in embedded systems, system integration (vehicle ↔ backend ↔ mobile), and modern vehicle architectures (ECUs, CAN, Ethernet, gateways)
- Hands-on experience with automotive standards (ASPICE, cybersecurity)
- Ability to act as the technical point of contact for Japan, confidently managing discussions, aligning expectations, and escalating when needed
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- Structured communicator with the ability to:
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear client messaging
- Convert client requirements into actionable inputs for global engineering teams
- Comfortable working across distributed/global teams
- Native or near-native Japanese
- Professional-level English (used for internal communication with global teams)
