Our customer is one of the most well-known brands in the Automotive parts industry: an international corporation with over a hundred years of history.
What project we have for you
We are engaged with European based branch to support their efforts in Digital and eCommerce space. Our team works on cloud infrastructure and solutions that facilitate sales and marketing of their products in the EMEA region (~50 countries).
What you will do
- Own technical direction and architecture decisions for the client’s digital products, partnering directly with Client associates from IT and Data Science/Platform teams at a strategic level
- Lead the design and industrialization of complex data science and data engineering solutions, translating ambiguous business problems into scalable production systems
- Define and evolve cloud backend architecture across the platform
- Set engineering standards for reusable code, libraries, and shared components across the team
- Drive application performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Establish and enforce security and data protection standards across the platform
- Define testing strategy and quality standards; ensure high test coverage and reliability across services
- Evaluate, pilot, and integrate AI-assisted development tools into the engineering workflow
- Act as a key technical point of contact with the client, influencing roadmap and technical decisions
What you need for this
- 10+ years in IT, with 7+ years of hands-on development experience across JavaScript (ES6+)/TypeScript and Java
- Deep expertise in backend development with Node.js and Java, with proven experience architecting large-scale, distributed systems
- Advanced experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing strategy, query optimization, and scaling for high-throughput systems
- Strong track record designing and maintaining unit/integration test suites (Jest, Mocha, Nock, Chai, JUnit or equivalent) and driving test strategy across teams
- Proven, hands-on experience with AWS (RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda) at an architectural level — designing cloud-native systems
- Practical experience leveraging AI tools in the development lifecycle (e.g., AI coding assistants, LLM-based tooling, AI-driven testing/code review, or ML feature integration)
- Strong computer science fundamentals — algorithms, complexity analysis, system design, and data structures — applied to real architectural trade-offs
- Solid experience with Virtualization/Containerization (Docker) and container orchestration
- Strong, hands-on experience with CI/CD toolchains (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, Git, Artifactory) — able to design and improve pipelines, not just use them
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, resolve technical conflicts, and drive alignment across distributed teams
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken — able to represent technical decisions to both engineers and client stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Production experience with Serverless frameworks
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes/AWS ECS in production environments
- Experience with Map engines (HERE, Mapbox, etc.)
- Experience mentoring engineers toward senior/lead roles or contributing to internal engineering standards/guidelines
