What project we have for you

Our client is the largest Ukrainian telecommunication operator providing communications and data services based on a broad range of mobile and fixed-line technologies.
The main focus of this position is a Windows AD specialist who will help the client with migration to the new infrastructure.

What you will do

Perform user migrations between two Microsoft 365 tenants according to detailed instructions and checklists.

Transfer and verify the correct functionality of:

  • mailboxes (Exchange Online);
  • OneDrive for Business (user personal storage);
  • Microsoft Teams (chats, teams, memberships, basic settings);
  • calendars (meetings, recurring events, delegations, rooms/resources — per instructions).

Review existing user permissions in the target tenant and partially restore these permissions (groups, roles, access to SharePoint / Teams / mailboxes) based on a predefined template.

Work with the source tenant:

  • prepare mailboxes as required (e.g., disable licenses, convert to shared mailboxes, archive, etc. — according to instructions);
  • set up required forwarding/redirects and auto-replies for migrated users;
  • ensure proper “mailbox deprovisioning” (deactivation, archiving, deletion according to policy).

Maintain accurate records of completed operations in spreadsheets/tracking systems (migration status, errors, execution time).

Escalate non-standard issues or errors to a senior engineer/architect as per the process.

Communicate with the service desk and, when necessary, with end users using predefined response templates.

What you need for this

Mandatory Requirements (Hard Skills)
*Basic to intermediate understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem:

  • Exchange Online (mailboxes, aliases, distribution groups);
  • OneDrive for Business (permissions, sharing, basic administration);
  • Microsoft Teams (teams, channels, membership, guest access);
  • Azure AD / Entra ID at a basic level (users, groups, licenses).
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 administration portals (Microsoft 365 admin center, Exchange admin center, Teams admin center) at least at the level of daily operations.
  • Ability to work strictly according to instructions:
    *follow checklist steps;
    *log deviations and errors;
    *avoid making independent architectural changes.
  • Understanding of basic migration principles:
    *what source and target tenants are;
    *meaning of “cutover,” “staged,” or phased migration;
    *basic logic of mailbox, file, and team migrations.
  • Experience working with Excel/Google Sheets or similar tools for managing user lists, migration statuses, etc.
  • Preferred: basic PowerShell skills (ability to read and run existing scripts; writing complex scripts is not required).

Preferred Additional Requirements

  • Practical experience participating in Microsoft 365 migration projects (tenant-to-tenant, on-premises → cloud, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing (E1/E3/E5, Business, etc.).
  • Experience working with migration tools (Quest, BitTitan, custom PowerShell scripts, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Experience working in large organizations (several hundred users or more).

Soft Skills Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work accurately with user lists, email addresses, and groups.
  • Responsibility and discipline: adherence to procedures, deadlines, and security policies.
  • Willingness to work with repetitive tasks while maintaining high quality and precision at scale.
  • Teamwork: ability to coordinate with other engineers, service desk, and project managers.
  • Willingness to learn new things within Microsoft 365 and follow updated instructions.
