We are looking for a motivated, pro-active Senior PHP/Laravel developer willing to learn new technologies, working in a challenging and fast paced environment. You will be working in small cross-functional Agile teams responsible for the end-to-end development and component support using ‘You Build It, You Run It’ principle.E-commerce platform for one of the largest building merchants.

What project we have for you

Our client is the UK’s largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry. Featuring a network of over 500 branches, supplying thousands of products and materials, including a tool hire service, to trade professionals and self-builders across the nation. With a wide range of quality timber, building materials, kitchens, plumbing and heating, landscaping, painting and decorating essentials and tools for the job – we do what matters for the trade.

What you will do

  • Taking ownership of the code base, reviewing code and ensuring best practices are always being followed by the team.
  • Taking ownership of the reliability of the application, ensuring releases are bug free by ensuring the applications test coverage is high and CI/CD pipelines are working well.
  • Taking ownership of monitoring the application to ensure it is performing well without issues affecting user journeys.
  • Working with stakeholders and the PO to understand their requirements and building technical specifications to build these requirements into the application in a reliable and scalable manner.

What you need for this

  • 5+ years of professional software development with PHP.
  • 5+ years of experience on working with Laravel and PHP 8.
  • Proven record of leading other team members.
  • Strong experience in building/integrating REST services and a very good understanding of the HTTP stack.
  • Good experience in writing automated unit, functional, and integration tests.
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns, service-oriented architecture, Twelve-Factor App methodology, Semantic Versioning.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, strong knowledge of working with git-based versioning systems and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in LDAP/AD or any Identity provider, especially oAuth, Keycloak.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a Scrum team .
  • Experience in Magento APIs is a plus.
  • Experience with Apigee is a plus.
  • Laravel Certification is a plus.
