Senior Test Engineer (Automotive, Connectivity, Telecommunication)

• Able to travel 2 weeks per months across Europe and periodically – Asia, North and South America;

Services to be tested are:

• Registration and pairing of vehicles, in terms of connectivity;
• Cellular connectivity in several countries, including when crossing countries borders (roaming);
• eSIM-related management (activation, provisioning, profile updates)
• Emergency and Assistance Calls establishment and termination;

Relevant skills:

• Driving license and strong experience;
• Persistence when finding complex problems to study;
• Capable of correlating the many system components influence on the overall one complex function;
• Capable of reading machine logs, understanding what information is relevant for understanding a specific problem;
• Curious mind;

Required skills:

• • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance;
  • Understanding of key QA metrics, interpreting and analyzing them to identify areas for improvement;
  • Hands-on experience with Test management tools;
  • Understanding of general architecture of Mobile Cellular Networks including its evolution through different generations;
  • Main components of Radio Subsystem / RAN and Core Subsystem / Media Gateway, etc;
  • Understanding of the difference between Circuit Switched and Packet Switched;
  • Voice call processing on VoLTE capable and non-capable cellular networks, fallback to common supported generation;
  • Supplementary services applicable to voice calls;
  • Packet routing configuration in cellular networks including APN and VPN;
  • Concept of Roaming service, types of roaming, involved network nodes and typical issues;
  • IMS service, SIP protocol, call flow details;
  • Differences between MNO and VMNO;
  • eSIM concept (activation/deactivation, profile provisioning, profile switching);
  • Cellular modems configuration, specifications, and debugging with a  focus on bands supported, region configuration, basic diagnostics, and logs;
  • Concept of eCall functionality and legal requirements on major regions like the EU, North America, China, etc;
  • Connected Cars architecture including possible ways to distribute information about vehicles, data to collect, and remote procedures;
  • Connected cars general procedures for registration and pairing including:

                       =>    What are the VIN, and serial numbers of the different connectivity components;

                       =>    PKI infrastructure, public and private keys, certification requests, installation, and usage in authentication and data transmission protection;

• • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose problems that arise during testing of the software on the target platform (WEB/Desktop/Mobile/Embedded);
  • Basic knowledge of Linux;
  • Experience with ODIS, IDEX, CP-Tool. 

Will be a plus:

• Excellent interpersonal and cross-culture communication skills;
• 3GPP specifications for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G (important);
• GSMA specifications for M2M and IOT eSIM (low importance);
• REST API usage in M2M communication;
