The Senior Software Engineer contributes to business processes by leveraging technological solutions. This role focuses on building software solutions for complex and extensive projects, encompassing object and data modeling, database design, programming, quality assurance, and implementation support, participates in the development of application standards and advocates for the adoption of best practices.

What you will do

  • Execute all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Autonomously manage tasks for smaller projects and take on the role of technical lead for projects of varying sizes.
  • Assess operational needs, costs, and resource requirements for assigned projects, collaborating with project managers as needed.
  • Co-lead an agile team alongside the Product Owner, applying Salesforce/CPQ best practices and design methodologies, such as use case analysis, object modeling, and UI design, to ensure alignment with business requirements and design objectives.
  • Participate actively in application architecture planning, including framework design, to determine the most suitable solution architecture for optimal efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Take the lead in developing high-level system narratives, storyboards, user interface prototypes, and detailed design specifications, providing guidance to the technical team.
  • Develop system test plans, ensure compliance with software quality assurance (SQA) standards, and validate the achievement of business goals.
  • Lead the development of detailed project estimates, covering resource allocation, timelines, and budget considerations.
  • Adhere to coding standards and quality in application development and help improve such standards.
  • Identify and address issues requiring attention, resolving them with a clear understanding of the underlying business problem.
  • Make informed technical decisions aligned with the product roadmap, architecture standards, and management directives.
  • Coach, mentor, and monitor the progress of junior team members.
  • Direct and focus the efforts of the technical project team, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Deliver projects and tasks in a timely manner, honoring commitments to stakeholders and management. Provide regular project/task status updates during daily scrums to the agile team, product owners, and product managers.
  • Coach, mentor, and monitor the progress of junior team members.

What you need for this

  • 5 years of application development experience
  • 2+ years of experience with the Salesforce ecosystem and lightning framework
  • Must have knowledge and practical application of Visualforce, APEX; Force.com APIs, Web Services, and Experience builder
  • Must have knowledge and practical application of Salesforce CPQ
  • Experience with source control systems like Azure DevOps, GIT
  • Experience with the creation and maintenance of Salesforce / CPQ profiles, permissionsets, and objects
  • Experience in Salesforce / CPQ integration with external systems and managed packages
  • Deliver solutions in Agile methodology in CI/CD environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain productive working relationships cross-departmentally and cross-functionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Strong organizational, planning, and creative problem-solving skills with critical attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success in facilitation and solutions implementation
  • Proven track record of leading application development projects
  • History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent customer-facing skills that include conducting compelling technical briefings & demonstrations
  • Ability to perform effective code reviews and recommend automated review tools for the team
  • Shifted hours 10AM-7PM or 11AM-8PM. Central time overlap required: ~4 hours per day

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in Agile SAFe Framework
  • Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce implementations including multiple instances
  • Experience with Salesforce / CPQ including GovCloud
  • Ability to think through performance requirements for a system and lead optimizing/tuning.
