We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer with exceptional SQL and Power BI expertise to design, optimize, and deliver impactful data solutions. In this role, you will partner directly with business and IT leadership to transform complex data into clear insights, leveraging advanced modeling, DAX, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What project we have for you

Client is a global private investment firm that manages institutional investment funds. Client focuses on investments in alternative assets, performing and sub-performing loans, corporate special situations, dislocated industries and is an experienced leader in aircraft ownership and servicing.

Known as innovators in alternative investing, Client is a relationship-oriented, preferred liquidity provider in smaller balance opportunities within niche areas of the investment landscape. What you will do

  • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports with a focus on performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Write and tune complex SQL queries (including window functions) to extract, transform, and validate data from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT leadership to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain robust data models in Power BI and ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business definitions.
  • Implement best practices for data visualization, DAX, and Power Query to maximize efficiency and performance.
  • Support data integration and ETL processes, with exposure to Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Python as needed.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and governance while promoting BI adoption and self-service analytics across the organization.

What you need for this

  • Mature personality with exceptional character and a high degree of integrity and ethics.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial drive with ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure and intense workload environment with minimal hierarchy and direction.
  • Team player orientation with ability to work with cross disciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
  • Attention to detail with ability to maintain perspective and big picture.
  • Sense of urgency with ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and while simultaneously managing multiple priorities.

Top Must Have Skills:

  • Exceptional SQL skills with expertise in windowed functions and performance tuning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including modeling, performance optimization techniques, visualization design, Power Query and DAX.
  • Communication Skills – Will need to work directly with the business and IT Leadership.
  • Hybrid – 2- 3 days a week in Downtown Minneapolis office.
