Client is a financial sciences company, combining data analysis, invention, and rigorous inquiry to help solve the toughest challenges in investment management, insurance technology, securities, private equity, and venture capital.

What project we have for you

The platform is a portfolio analytics tool used by asset owners, asset managers, and advisors.

The platform applies the best expertise in research, data science, and technology to modernize the analytics experience for institutional investors, helping them embrace a quantitative approach to multi-asset portfolio risk and investment decision making.

The available tools help investors perform factor-based risk analysis to inform manager due diligence, investment evaluation, and portfolio construction.

The client’s headquarters is in the USA

We are seeking an experienced, full-stack Software Engineer to help own the innovation, technical design, and development of the platform.

 

You will be joining a newly formed team with the following structure:

1x Delivery Manager

1x Principal Full Stack Engineer

2x Senior Engineers

1x Middle Engineer

1x Automation Test Engineer

 

Technology Stack:

  • Cloud based, modern web application stack using Java, Typescript, React.js
  • Apollo GraphQL as an popular open-source ecosystem for building and managing GraphQL APIs
  • Service oriented architecture, infrastructure-as-code
  • Continuous  development and deployment
  • Auto-scaling and robust search (Postgres, OpenSearch)
  • Cloud technologies (AWS)
  • Cloud monitoring (Datadog)
  • Test automation (Cypress)

What you will do

Responcibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts (using Cypress for web applications).
  • Build and extend automation frameworks to support scalable, maintainable, and reusable test cases.
  • Ensure the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous feedback.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and create test sets
  • Conduct functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing using automation and manual approaches where necessary
  • Validate UI, API, and workflow functionality through automated tests.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, inconsistencies, and usability issues using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Integrate test suites with CI/CD tools
  • Monitor test runs and ensure timely feedback to developers on build quality and regressions.
  • Ensure high test coverage across critical workflows and business features.
  • Generate and maintain test reports, logs, and documentation of test results.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, BAs.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives).
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the testing process, tools, and frameworks for efficiency and effectiveness

What you need for this

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in automation testing
  • Experience with automating web application testing using modern frameworks
  • Strong experience with Cypress for end-to-end testing (UI and API)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, especially for test scripting
  • Experience with automating web application testing using modern frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Strong knowledge of software testing principles and best practices
  • Experience writing clear, maintainable, and scalable test code
  • Ability to design and implement test cases, and test data
  • Ability to clearly report issues and testing progress
  • Familiarity with TDD/BDD methodologies is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, keen attention to detail, readiness to challenge assumptions and obsession with building quality software
  • Ability to work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
