We are looking for a motivated, pro-active Principle DevOps Engineer with profound hands on experience in GCP and leading teams, working in a challenging and fast paced environment.
Our client is a state-owned closed joint-stock company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that offers services in aviation management. Established in 2013 by the country’s General Authority of Civil Aviation it today operates all of Saudi Arabia’s 29 civilian airports through its four wholly owned subsidiaries.
The client aims to accelerate the adoption of cloud computing services and seeks for the team of experts to help them shift their infrastructure to cloud.
1. Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead the DevOps Infrastructure team, ensuring alignment with project goals and best practices.
• Coordinate with cloud architects, security engineers, and application teams to drive the migration strategy.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and upskilling within the team on GCP services and DevOps best practices.
2. Infrastructure & Cloud Platform Management
• Design, build, and enhance the Infrastructure Platform on GCP to support scalable, secure, and resilient workloads.
• Ensure high availability, security, and reliability of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
3. Migration & Deployment
• Develop and oversee the migration plan, ensuring smooth transition from on-prem or other cloud environments to GCP.
• Optimize cloud resource provisioning, cost management, and performance tuning.
• Define and implement strategies for hybrid and multi-cloud environments if needed.
4. Automation & CI/CD
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous deployment and automated testing.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
• Leverage tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Google Cloud Build.
5. Security & Compliance
• Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, network segmentation, and data encryption.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, etc.) and internal security policies.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
6. Monitoring, Logging & Incident Management
• Deploy and maintain observability solutions using tools like Google Cloud Operations Suite (Stackdriver), Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting mechanisms.
• Lead incident response efforts and ensure minimal downtime through disaster recovery planning.
7. Performance Optimization & Cost Management
• Continuously evaluate and optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency, scalability, and performance.
• Implement cost monitoring and governance strategies using GCP billing and cost management tools.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure optimal resource allocation and avoid unnecessary spending.
8. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
• Act as a key point of contact for project updates, risks, and technical challenges.
• Provide regular reports on infrastructure health, migration progress, and DevOps KPIs.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to align DevOps strategies with organizational goals.
The candidate will lead the DevOps Infrastructure team involved in the migration project and will be involved in all aspects of building and improvements of the Infrastructure Platform built on top of GCP.
