What project we have for you

A cutting-edge corporate start-up from the biggest reinsurance company in the world is looking for GIS Engineer to accelerate the release timeline. The product is Location Risk Intelligence system, which has already won first large customers and is in the process of scaling up:

Location Risk Intelligence supports you in the assessment of natural hazard risks worldwide, from individual risks to entire risk portfolios.

Location Risk Intelligence (Natural Hazards Assessment Network) accelerates your business processes and supports portfolio control and claims management.

Location Risk Intelligence is based on the systematic global collection of hazard data at the biggest reinsurance company in the world over the past four decades. This extensive scientific knowledge, combined with the risk modelling developed within the company, forms the basis of our offering, which consists of global and national risk assessments, spatial analyses and loss overviews.

What you will do

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced flood risk modelling methodologies to improve existing flood risk solution
  • Utilize advanced data science techniques to analyze and interpret large datasets related to flood risk.
  • Design, develop, and implement new models using programming languages such as Python or R
  • Work closely with team of experts, including hydrologists and actuaries to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Work on documentation of technical project aspects, including software code and model documentation

What you need for this

Skills

  • Statistical and Mathematical Modeling
  • Proficiency in geospatial data processing and spatial analysis (QGIS, ArcGIS)
  • Experience in analysis and processing larger datasets
  • Programming Proficiency (preferably in Python)
  • Flood Risk Modelling Expertise desirable
  • Experience in Uncertainty Analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Technical Communication
