“Mom, Dad, I’m Engineering the New Era”: Inviting Our Parents Into Our World

Stories
August 6, 2025

Today, we build the technologies shaping the digital future, but once, we were curious kids full of “why”, “what”, and “how”. Back then, there was always someone by our side, answering our endless questions, encouraging us to explore, and reminding us to never give up — our parent(s). And now, we just want to say: thank you for everything!

That’s why, we’ve launched “Mom, dad, I’m engineering the new era” project. Our goal was to celebrate our parents, those who nurtured our curiosity, inspired us to dream big, cheered us on, and still do. Here’s what came of it:

A gallery of memories

From India and Colombia to Portugal, Spain, Poland and Ukraine, our teammates shared over 130 childhood photos — reminders of where we started and the people who cheered us on, told us to try, to dream big and never give up.

The collection became a gallery of memories: school events, family vacations, playground fun, first McDonald’s visits, moments when we’re absolutely not in the mood but parent(s) still insisted on the photo.

Visiting the office

We didn’t stop there. To bring our parents closer to what we do, we organized an offline meetup for our specialists and their parents at our Lviv office. We set an exhibition of childhood photos, shared ice cream, defined the super-powers of our parent(s), gave them a full tour—meeting rooms, kitchens, development spaces, terrace—and hosted short, jargon-free talks to explain what their children actually do. That day was full of “wow”, “oh”, happy tears, laughs, hugs and eyes shining with pride.

Childhood flavors

And what else do we miss since those times? The home-cooked meal! The smell of our favorite dish all around the house, and even the rule of getting sweets only after eating soup. So, we dared to ask our IntelliPeople to share their family recipes, to try to replicate those masterpieces and nostalgize for a bit more.

Words we grew up with

More so, at the moments when we’re lost, need encouragement or are unsure of what to do next, there are some words echoing in our minds. Kind and gentle, wise and humorous, philosophical and practical — words of wisdom from our parent(s). We asked our colleagues to share those and were touched by how our parent(s) always seem to know just what to say.

Workplace approved by parents

To get a parent’s approval feels as valuable to us as getting recognitions from Forbes, EY, or Great Place to Work. Now we have all of them, and we’re always open to new talents to join our team
