We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (Agent Gateway) to design and operate secure, scalable agent communication infrastructure built on AWS AgentCore Gateway. The role focuses on A2A protocol implementation, agent discovery and routing, gateway architecture, authentication, and multi-agent platform integration. The ideal candidate combines strong Python backend engineering skills with deep expertise in distributed systems, API gateways, and AI agent ecosystems.

Intellia’s mission is to help the client with the engineering of a comprehensive software ecosystem for a game-changing IoT product on the margin of innovative consumer experience and cutting-edge technology. Our teams are involved in the engineering of core platform components for best-in-class eCommerce, Digital Marketing and IoT solutions. As an Engineer, you will become a part of Core Architecture Team and be responsible for the architecture, implementation of best practices in our Digital Engineering Enterprise Platform.
The Platform is a set of services and internet applications that accelerate the development and delivery of software applications by taking care of common SDLC challenges. The Platform provides access and consumption for engineering teams to a set of services, technologies, practices for their development and for operating their application, ensuring a set of compliance and best practices.
What you will do
- Design and implement agent communication platforms using AWS AgentCore Gateway.
- Build backend services and integrations using Python and AgentCore SDK.
- Develop agent discovery, registration, routing, and invocation workflows following A2A protocol specifications.
- Design and enforce secure trust models for agent-to-agent communication.
- Implement OAuth 2.0 and SigV4 authentication and authorization mechanisms for A2A channels.
- Design gateway deployment topologies, including shared and tenant-isolated architectures.
- Establish routing, governance, and policy enforcement mechanisms across agent ecosystems.
- Integrate AI agent frameworks such as LangGraph and CrewAI into enterprise agent platforms.
- Design scalable multi-agent orchestration and communication patterns across distributed environments.
- Perform gateway performance testing, load validation, capacity planning, and latency analysis.
- Conduct security testing and threat assessments for agent communication channels.
- Collaborate with security, platform, and AI engineering teams to establish operational standards and best practices.
- Create technical documentation, architecture guidelines, and platform implementation standards.
- Support production operations, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of gateway infrastructure.
What you need for this
• AWS AgentCore Gateway (A2A protocol — agent card registration, routing, enforcement)
• Python backend engineering (AgentCore SDK)
• A2A protocol specification (agent discovery, invocation lifecycle, trust model)
• OAuth 2.0 / SigV4 authentication for A2A channels
• AgentCore Gateway deployment topology design (single vs. per-tenant)
• Performance and security testing for gateway workloads
Experience:
• 5+ years platform or backend engineering
• API gateway design and implementation
• OAuth 2.0 and identity-based routing
• Multi-agent system architecture
• Experience with AI/LLM agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI)
Will be a plus:
• AWS AgentCore Gateway A2A enforcement model hands-on
• AWS AgentCore Runtime multi-agent invocation patterns
• Enterprise A2A governance standard authoring.
