What project we have for you

For a long-term test infrastructure programme in the automotive/connected car field, we are looking for experienced Test Equipment Engineers. You plan, build and operate test benches and test equipment at our Ingolstadt and Wolfsburg sites – hands-on, self-directed and in close cooperation with specialist departments, software development and suppliers. 

What you will do

  • Technical planning of test benches and test equipment in the automotive/connected car field 
  • Ordering, acceptance, commissioning and management of test benches and test equipment incl. setup of test racks and connected-car test systems 
  • Integration of ECUs and cable harnesses; configuration of residual bus simulations and network technology 
  • Commissioning, flashing, coding, parameterisation and teach-in; hardware repairs (soldering, crimping, wiring) 
  • Planning and execution of regular software and firmware updates as well as functional verification and documentation of hardware/software states per client specification 
  • Structured root-cause analysis of commissioning issues incl. coordination and tracking of corrective actions; asset and lifecycle management of the test equipment 

What you need for this

  • Completed vocational training or degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or comparable 
  • Solid knowledge of (vehicle-side) electrical engineering, vehicle electronics and ECU technology; confident reading of electronic wiring diagrams 
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning, flashing, coding and parameterisation as well as soldering and wiring; high-voltage awareness 
  • German at negotiation level, good written and spoken English 
  • Strong hands-on mentality, independent and reliable way of working, communication skills and resilience 

Nice to have 

  • Understanding of connected-car architecture 
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN, FlexRay and Automotive Ethernet bus systems as well as measurement and diagnostic technology 
  • Awareness of information security (TISAX, ISO 27001) and agile ways of working (Scrum/SAFe) 

Tools & technologies: Diagnostic and measurement technology (e.g. ODIS, Vector toolchain), analysis/network tools (WireShark, PuTTY, WinSCP) as well as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
