DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevSecOps Engineer to join our DEEP DevSecOps team. This role is critical for integrating security practices within our DevOps processes while ensuring our applications and infrastructure not only comply with best practices but also actively anticipate and mitigate emerging threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying your knowledge of AWS, scripting, and web development frameworks to enhance our security posture.

What project we have for you

Our customer is a multinational corporation with more than a century of history and offices in over 180 countries. Their most ambitious goal at the time is to introduce a range of Reduced-Risk Products (RRPs), offering smokers a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes. The target audience is more than 1 billion of consumers around the globe.

The Platform is a set of services and internet applications that accelerate the development and delivery of software applications by taking care of common SDLC challenges. The Platform provides access and consumption for engineering teams to a set of services, technologies, practices for their development and for operating their application, ensure a set of compliance and best practices.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure automation solutions for operational tasks and security enhancements, leveraging AWS, Python, JavaScript, and React frameworks, specifically Next.js.
  • Proactively identify and address security vulnerabilities before they can be exploited, going beyond the reliance on standard security frameworks and tools.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring seamless integration of security practices without compromising on efficiency or innovation.
  • Conduct comprehensive security reviews, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing within AWS environments to pre-emptively mitigate potential security risks.
  • Develop, enforce, and continuously update security best practices, policies, and standards, encouraging a security-first mindset across the organization.
  • Automate security controls and processes to enhance operational efficiency and provide insightful metrics on security posture.
  • Stay abreast of the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices, ensuring our security strategies are agile and effective.

What you need for this

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in AWS cloud services, with a strong emphasis on security implications.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and JavaScript, with practical experience in developing tools and automating tasks for security and operational efficiency.
  • Proficient understanding of operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows)
  • Strong scripting skills at OS level using native languages (e.g., Powershell, Bash)
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices and tools, with hands-on experience in integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of the React framework, specifically Next.js, and its implications for web application security.
  • Solid understanding of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB)
  • Proactive mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify and address security issues before they escalate.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as ansible, chef or puppet.
  • Familiarity with code pipeline tools such as GIT, bitbucket, Jenkins and CodePipeLine.
  • Understanding of security standards and frameworks (e.g., OWASP, NIST, ISO, CIS, GDPR).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Will be a plus:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP)
