We are looking for a Python Engineer to design and build backend services powering an enterprise registry platform for AI agents, tools, and integrations. The role focuses on Python development, REST API implementation, AWS-native services, data modeling, validation frameworks, and secure API design. The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience, expertise with DynamoDB, and a proven track record of building scalable cloud-native APIs.

Their most ambitious goal at the time is to introduce a range of Reduced-Risk Products (RRPs). The target audience is more than 1 billion consumers around the globe. IT platform hosts 700+ applications.
Intellia’s mission is to help the client with the engineering of a comprehensive software ecosystem for a game-changing IoT product on the margin of innovative consumer experience and cutting-edge technology. Our teams are involved in the engineering of core platform components for best-in-class eCommerce, Digital Marketing and IoT solutions. As an Engineer, you will become a part of Core Architecture Team and be responsible for the architecture, implementation of best practices in our Digital Engineering Enterprise Platform.
The Platform is a set of services and internet applications that accelerate the development and delivery of software applications by taking care of common SDLC challenges. The Platform provides access and consumption for engineering teams to a set of services, technologies, practices for their development and for operating their application, ensuring a set of compliance and best practices.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain Registry APIs using Python, FastAPI, and AWS services.
- Build RESTful endpoints supporting resource registration, creation, updates, retrieval, listing, and deletion.
- Design and optimize DynamoDB data models and access patterns for scalable registry operations.
- Implement secure API authentication and authorization using JWT-based access controls.
- Develop validation frameworks enforcing naming conventions, schema compliance, lifecycle rules, and business constraints.
- Design and maintain API contracts, request validation logic, and error-handling mechanisms.
- Build integrations with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS-native platform services.
- Ensure API reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
- Implement auditability, logging, and monitoring capabilities for registry operations.
- Collaborate with platform and architecture teams to evolve registry standards and governance requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and integration guides.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of backend engineering practices.
What you need for this
• Python (FastAPI, DynamoDB, boto3)
• REST API (CRUD — create, register, update, list, fetch, delete)
• AWS (DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway)
• Validation rules (naming conventions, enum strictness, lifecycle constraints)
• JWT authentication enforcement
Experience:
• 4+ years Python backend engineering
• DynamoDB data modeling and access patterns
• REST API with input validation
Will be a plus:
• AWS AgentCore Registry API integration
• MCP server metadata schema authoring
• API lifecycle management patterns
