We are looking for a Python Engineer to contribute to the development of an enterprise AI Agent Platform being built from the ground up. The role will focus on implementing MCP-based tool integration capabilities, enabling AI agents to securely discover, connect to, and invoke external tools and services.
You will work primarily with Python, asynchronous communication, MCP server/client implementations, and agent tool integration patterns, helping establish a standardized tool ecosystem for multiple AI agents and enterprise use cases.

About the Project
The project is focused on building an enterprise-grade AI Agent Platform from the ground up. The platform will provide a standardized foundation for developing, deploying, orchestrating, securing, and observing AI agents across multiple teams and use cases.
The initiative covers the full agent lifecycle and brings together agent orchestration, observability, security, governance, integrations, evaluation, and platform engineering. Engineers joining the project will have an opportunity to influence key architectural and technical decisions and contribute to a new platform rather than maintaining an existing solution.
What you will do
- Design and implement MCP server and client components in Python.
- Implement MCP capabilities including Streamable HTTP transport, tool discovery, tool invocation, and capability negotiation.
- Build asynchronous HTTP services and support streaming communication patterns.
- Develop integrations that expose AWS Lambda functions, remote MCP servers, and APIs as agent tools.
- Implement OpenAPI-to-MCP translation and standardized tool registration mechanisms.
- Define and manage tool schemas, parameters, metadata, capability tags, and versioning.
- Integrate tools with LLM agents using function calling and agent tool integration patterns.
- Build robust parameter validation and error-handling mechanisms for tool execution.
- Develop and maintain AWS Lambda-based tool integrations.
- Integrate MCP tools with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Strands.
- Contribute to semantic tool discovery and indexing, including embeddings for tool descriptions.
What you need for this
Skills:
• Model Context Protocol (MCP) — Streamable HTTP transport, tools/list, tools/call, capability negotiation
• Python async programming — MCP server/client implementation, async HTTP, streaming responses
• Agent tool integration patterns — function calling, tool schema definition, parameter validation
• MCP target types — Lambda functions as tools, remote MCP servers, OpenAPI-to-MCP translation
• Tool metadata management — schema registration, capability tagging, versioning
Experience:
• 4+ years Python engineering with agent/AI systems
• Built tool integrations for LLM agents (OpenAI functions, LangChain tools, or equivalent)
• Implemented async HTTP services and streaming protocols
• AWS Lambda development
Nice to have:
• MCP protocol implementation experience (server or client)
• LangChain / LangGraph tool integration
• AWS Bedrock AgentCore Gateway target registration
• Semantic tool indexing (embedding generation for tool descriptions)
• Agent framework integration (Strands, Crew, AutoGPT)
