We are looking for a Defect Manager to join Intellias and take ownership of defect governance within a complex automotive software program. This role is critical for ensuring high-quality releases, transparent defect handling, and efficient cross-team coordination across multiple development streams.
Intellias is a global technology partner delivering engineering and digital solutions for leading automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers, focusing on next-generation mobility, embedded systems, and connected platforms.
What project we have for you
The project is part of a large-scale in-vehicle software platform development for a premium global automotive OEM. The scope covers end-to-end validation and integration of key in-car functions, including user experience features, intelligent assistants, and core vehicle services.
The program involves distributed teams across multiple internal units, operating under agile delivery aligned with OEM milestone stages. Strong defect management is essential due to the high system complexity, integration dependencies, and strict quality gates.
What you will do
- Establish and maintain a centralized defect management process
- Ensure transparent tracking, prioritization, and resolution of defects
- Coordinate defect triage sessions with development, QA, and integration teams
- Monitor and report defect KPIs, trends, and quality metrics
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with project quality gates and release criteria
- Act as a single point of contact for defect management towards stakeholders
- Align defect handling with OEM processes and milestone expectations
- Support risk identification and mitigation related to defect backlog
- Facilitate cross-team communication and escalation handling
What you need for this
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Defect Management / Quality Assurance leadership roles in complex software projects
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and defect lifecycle best practices
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA or similar)
- Experience working in large-scale, multi-team, distributed environments
- Ability to define, implement, and enforce defect management processes
- Strong analytical skills to track defect trends, root causes, and KPIs
- Experience with release management and quality gates
- Excellent stakeholder communication and reporting skills
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or OEM-specific frameworks)
- Ability to prioritize defects based on severity, impact, and business value
Will be a plus: - Experience in automotive software projects (OEM or Tier‑1)
- Knowledge of AOSP / embedded systems environments
- Experience in integration and validation phases of complex systems
- Understanding of ASPICE processes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing environments
- Background in cross-supplier coordination and governance
