Intellias engineers demonstrated the concept of a self-balancing motorcycle of their own development at the CES International Exhibition of Technology and Electronics in Las Vegas. The technology has a potential of becoming a fully-fledged driver’s assistant and allowing autonomous control of the vehicle at low speed.

The self-balancing motorcycle has built-in sensors that respond to the vehicle’s movement. The automatic system monitors the angle of deviation from the vertical axis and the rate of descent, and adjusts the position of the motorcycle, moving the handlebars in the right direction to stabilize.

Such system can make life easier for new drivers, who find it difficult to keep their balance at low speed. Also, preserving stability at moderate speed is crucial in the cities with high traffic. Advanced technology, developed by Intellias engineers, even makes it possible for the vehicle to move alongside the driver.
